Social Entrepreneur with nearly 10 years experience from the Norwegian Special Forces, ranging from crisis management, counter terrorism, cultural awareness, operative psychology, operational planning and execution, intelligence gathering and analyzis, concept development and medical first response.
Founder of the humanitarian organization Making Change (MAKE/) in 2009 and is the initiative taker and creative force behind the Leading Change (LEAD/) initiative applying the skills of former military personnel for humanitarian and/ or ethical motivated business purposes, bridging the competence gap between the military, civilian business, and former military personnel.
TOMMY SKJOLDE (LEAD/ Norway)
BUSINESS DEVELOPER – HSE & QUALITY CONTROLLER
Former Army Captain with nearly 20 years of service, ranging from medical services to Civil Military Cooperation. 5 yrs of which in International services, giving valuable experience in Cultural awareness, Emergency Preparedness, conflict work and Multi-national Cooperation.
In his present career he work as a Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Advisor in the Norwegian Oil and Gas industry.
The dedication to quality improvements with a personal edge, has always been one of his main priorities.
The experiences from both careers have given Tommy Skjolde the qualities needed to lead the quality processes in Leading Change.
MARTIJN VAN DER MEIJS (LEAD/ Stavanger)
BUSINESS DEVELOPER – STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS ADVISER
Martijn has over 20 years experience from the Netherlands’ Navy and Army, including two years working with the UN, four years with NATO and some other international assignments. The last eight years of his military career were dedicated to Public Affairs and Strategic Communications. After retiring, he transitioned to the Oil & Gas Industry where he worked as Training Manager and Performance Coach. His core competencies are Communication, Leadership Development, Training & Coaching and Crisis Management.
J.P. JANSEN (LEAD/ International)
BUSINESS DEVELOPER – CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER (CSO)/ DISCIPLINE LEAD
A former military officer with 25 years of service in the Royal Netherlands Army, with extensive experience as security/intelligence manager & senior analyst with a focus on risks & threat(s) including insurgency and counter insurgency, counter narcotics, organized crime and threat finance in conflict-affected and insecure environments. Valuable expertise working NATO Operations, including its Strategic Headquarters as well as both Civilian and Military Security and Intelligence roles and functions.
Led and managed teams of military and civilian members of staff in Central Asia, Africa, the Middle-East and the Balkans with national, NATO and UN forces.
Extensive security & intelligence network, with a keen eye on threats, vulnerabilities, risk analysis, travel security and the impact of hostile intent on organizations and infrastructure.
Grew up in several countries of the Middle-East with a key understanding of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
MORTEN VAAGE (LEAD/Stavanger)
BUSINESS DEVELOPER & ADVISOR – SUPPLY CHAIN; PROCUREMENT, LOGISTICS AND VENDOR MANAGEMENT
Former Lieutenant Commander over 13 years of varied service as officer in Royal Norwegian Army and Navy, including several international operations both at sea and on land holding vital fiscal and logistics positions as well as several years working with leader development. He also has nearly two years in the humanitarian sector, fronting and leading global initiatives and projects at the Norwegian Refugee Council. He currently holds a position in the Oil and Gas industry, as Global Supply Chain Advisor, including responsibilities such as procurement and sourcing, vendor management, inventory management, transport and logistics, focusing on business development and improvement.
In combination with his educational basis, his background gives him a unique network and experience across sectors and cultures within his area of disciplines.
ESPEN JOHANNESEN (LEAD/ Kristiansand)
BUSINESS DEVELOPER – BUSINESS RESEARCHER
Former 2nd Lieutenant, with service in both the army and the navy. Experience from threat assessment, information analysis and conflict work, to cultural awareness, human resources and multi-national cooperation.
He also has experience from international theatres of conflict, and a bachelor*s degree which includes educational science.
His genuine interest for human psychology and behavior reflects in both his work and personal life gives him the required qualities to do a broad specter of tasks within the organization.
BUSINESS DEVELOPER – DATABASE
Former Army Lieutenant with 10 years of service. Specialized in administration and logistics. 8 months of which in international service, giving logistics support for an international Task Unit. Part
of leading group for both the military academy and officers candidate school, providing and facilitating for future leaders. In her present career she works as logistics coordinator in the shipping industry.
Her initiative, social skills and ability to connect with external clients and companies makes her a valuable asset to Leading Change.
ELI THERESE SCHJENKEN
BUSINESS DEVELOPER – ANALYST
Former Army Lieutenant with experience from both analysis and military staff work, with experience from International Operations and the UN.
She also has a Masters degree in History, from The University of Bergen, including Religion- and Administration-Organization Science.
